In this blog post I will be discussing the 3 Hearts of Iron games which are famous for their modern warfare. 1. Hearts of iron 4, 2. Victoria 2 Paradox, and 3. Crusader Kings 2 Paradox I am going to briefly explain each game and their differences in game play. Once they reach the final stage where all other countries are either puppeted or annexed into your nation, then you can declare world war on whoever else is left standing at the time. Victoria 2 is a grand strategy game made by Paradox Entertainment, Inc. It is the spiritual successor to the Europa Universalis Rome and Europa Universalis series where players can choose from one of 18 historical nations (like China) and lead them to glory. Players gain points by colonizing other areas, having more money than other countries, and allies. Then the player will be able to create their own dynasty which they can pass on through generations just like in real life. The goal is for players to become the superpower in the world and conquer all other countries into their own nation. When the player becomes a master of all lands, they can declare world conquest. The game introduces a new feature called "historical battles" which brings players into wars that were real-life events or battles that occurred during this era. Crusader Kings 2 Paradox is a grand strategy game made by Paradox Interactive. The premise of the game is to follow one of four families from Europe to promote their family's rise to power and eventually take control of all European countries to create a kingdom with a dynasty. Players are free to create their own families, domestic affairs, and alliances. The game also features an optional phenomenon called "accidents" where bad things may happen to the player's family. This feature allows players to experience dynasties of quality. Both Victoria 2 and CK2 have all kinds of battle options that players can choose from. For me, I prefer Victoria 2 over CK2 because I feel that it is more realistic than CK2.
